My research is rooted in community engagement. I believe the people closest to an issue should be centered in defining it, studying it, and shaping solutions. Through participatory research, needs assessments, and collaborative projects, I work with college students, residents, and local organizations to elevate community voices and generate actionable insights. Community-engaged research values lived experiences, builds trust, and produces knowledge that is meaningful, accessible, and useful, contributing to real-world change.

Healthy Environments, Healthy Lives is a community‑engaged research project addressing the environmental and health inequities shaping daily life in North Louisiana. Through fieldwork, data collection, and collaboration with residents, organizations, and local businesses, the project generates actionable insights to support healthier, more equitable communities. Students conduct hands‑on research that strengthens their skills in data collection, analysis, communication, and ethical engagement practices while contributing directly to community‑driven knowledge and solutions. Their involvement expands project capacity and supports Grambling State University’s commitment to experiential learning and workforce preparation. Although rooted in North Louisiana, the project aims to develop tools and models that can benefit rural and underserved communities everywhere.
